Kapa'a, Kaua'i
Another activity that was quite memorable on our trip to Kauai was the bike trail on the east side of the island in Kapa'a. This is an approximately 4-mile trail along the coast, that passes great ocean views, sacred Hawaiian burial grounds, and beautiful beaches. We rented a couple of 3-speed cruisers and a trailer for the young one from Coconut Coasters in Kapa'a.
Shots taken with my point-and-shoot (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01) and converted to B&W in Adobe Lightroom.

Lydgate Park, Kaua'i
One of the best parks that we visited in Kaua'i was Lydgate park in Wailua on the east side. Though there are many beautiful beach parks on the island, this one was unique because of its giant playground for kids. There is an intricate wooden playground with bridges, slides, and balance beams all shaped into castles, volcanoes, mazes, caves, and a rocket ship. One could spend hours here without a child getting bored. Perfect for running down the batteries of an active 3-year-old. The structure is designed to integrate learning activities with a variety of obstacles that help develop gross motor skills.
Too bad we only visited it once. If you ever plan to go to Kaua'i with kids, I would highly recommend this park. Oh yea...The beach is nice, too.
